As Sopra Steria Financial Services healthy pipeline continues to grow, we are seeking experienced Debt Recovery Specialists to help shape our expanding team. This role requires a strong background in debt management and financial services, along with a passion for delivering ethical and fair customer outcomes. Managing a workbasket of activity, setting out daily and weekly priorities and actions to be completed against singular or multiple clients across public sector financial services sectors. Liaising with customers to recover overdue debt and facilitate payment either in full, via payment plans or settlements. You will spend 2 days in our Newport office and 3 days working from home. What you will be doing: Undertake affordability assessments with customers via income and expenditure reviews and challenging spend outside of set parameters. Make decisions on future recovery options of debt that has completed collection lifecycle such as viability of a second cycle. Working with and understanding customer vulnerabilities and protected characteristics to achieve a positive outcome. Working to improving the customer journey and success rates. Challenging customers to ensure that the responses received with regards to reviews and ability to pay is fair and accurate. What you will bring: Experience of undertaking collection activity for Financial Services products Experience of working in a debt management and/or credit control position, including collection activity. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and with empathy with people at all levels both internally and externally. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to challenge customers where appropriate. Seek to solve problems and suggest solutions before having to escalate them. Experience of working in a contact or call centre environment. It would be great if you had: Experience of working in an environment with differing SLAs, debt types and customer requirements. Experience with Client Management Systems or other applications providing workflow activity. Experience of working in an FCA regulated environment for debt collections, administration or mortgage services.
