The Leicester School of Pharmacy delivers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the highly regarded MSc Clinical Pharmacy, the Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing and the Masters of Pharmacy (MPharm) programme. Role We are seeking an experienced individual to join the School as Pharmacy Experiential Learning Lead. This post requires an individual with an understanding of the pharmacy landscape to provide strategic direction, academic leadership and curriculum development in experiential learning, including clinical placements, interprofessional education and simulation. This is an exciting opportunity to take on leadership in sourcing, negotiating and organising undergraduate placements within healthcare settings. You will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual paperwork is completed by students, employers and the University and that placement providers meet necessary Quality Assurance requirements. You will also be pivotal in ensuring that our students are supported during their experiential learning journey on the programme. Please note this is a full-time, Monday to Friday post and will be fully based on campus / in practice settings. Ideal Candidate The post holder will have experience working with other healthcare professionals, preferably in the NHS or primary care, and will be required to build and maintain long term relationships with healthcare stakeholders and placement providers within primary and secondary care in order to increase future placement, interprofessional education and simulation opportunities for our students. The successful applicant for this post will be registered as a Pharmacist or a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, and have a higher degree / relevant clinical postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience, as well as in depth knowledge / experience of Pharmacy Practice in the UK. You will also have proven people and budget management skills. We place high value on contributions to academic citizenship activity in the School.
