About the role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Defence team at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) on a fixed term contract until the end of the year. As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data. This role will have a strong focus on building and maintain security tooling within a hybrid cloud environment. What you?ll be doing Ensure security monitoring and logging have been built as per design and best practices Liaise with internal teams on defining compliance testing requirements from a technical perspective Define event logging requirements across a hybrid cloud environment Define security agent requirements and their configurations for a hybrid cloud environment Undertake validation tests on migrated infrastructure Ensure onboarding processes are defined for IaaS & PaaS services Create and maintain technical security onboarding documents Ensure applications and services conform to security requirements and best practices Integrate and configure security tools within a hybrid cloud environment Define pre and post go-live tasks which can be applied to a migration project Work with cloud engineers to validate OS images are configured as per security design Ensure the health and availability of security tooling capabilities Act as Cyber Security Technical SME when working with other digital teams About you Strong experience in a cyber security engineering or related role. Demonstratable experience of working in an enterprise infrastructure environment Strong understanding of security principles, technologies and best practices. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, etc.). Experience with network security, application security and data security Hands-on experience with various security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection and native cloud tools) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Interview process This role will be a two-stage interview process, consisting of a competency/behavioural based interview and a technical assessment. Working Schedule We are based in Bristol, BS1 5HL. This role is a fixed term contract, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home. Why us?
