Job title: Test Item Controller Location: Glasgow, Clydebank Job type: Permanent Working hours: Monday to Friday - 35 hours per week Industry: Life Sciences Job Description We?re seeking a Test Item Receipt Technician to join our team at SGS Vitrology, Glasgow. In this role, you?ll play a crucial part in ensuring the safe receipt, storage, controlled issue, and discard of Test Items, Biological Agents, and associated materials. You?ll also contribute to waste management and laboratory maintenance, supporting our commitment to quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Receipt, storage, controlled issue, and discard of all Test Items, Biological Agents, Controlled Drugs/Schedule 5 substances, and associated materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Manage waste for the Test Item Receipt Labs, including the use of an autoclave for safe disposal. Perform routine lab cleans (daily, weekly, monthly) and complete associated cleaning packages accurately. Handle the discard of client samples and manage all related communications to ensure compliance. Collaborate with the team, Project Managers, and clients to ensure the timely receipt of samples, enabling efficient scheduling of work. Qualifications Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Previous experience in a laboratory or scientific setting is advantageous but not essential. Commitment to maintaining compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
